Background of the Study
In Nigeria, political alliances have played a crucial role in shaping the political landscape. These alliances are formed to strengthen political support, achieve political goals, and ensure a unified national outlook. In Jos South LGA, Plateau State, coalition politics has been significant in influencing local and national cohesion (Aliyu, 2022). These political alliances, especially during elections, help bridge ethnic and regional divides, creating a semblance of unity among diverse groups.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
While political alliances are instrumental in national cohesion, there are concerns regarding their true impact on unity, particularly in ethnically diverse regions like Jos South.
